The Full Story

Alecia DeAngelis, PMHNP-BC

With a strong foundation in critical care and hospital medicine, I began my career as an ICU nurse, working with some of the most critically ill patients in Level 1 trauma and cardiac units across major hospitals, including Cedar Sinai, UCI, and George Washington University Hospital. Those years at the bedside taught me not only the science of healing, but the human side of medicine—the power of compassion, listening, and connection in moments of crisis.

After nearly a decade in acute care, I transitioned from the ICU to the field of psychiatry to focus on healing the mind as well as the body. I carry forward the same calm, steady presence I developed in critical care now applied to helping patients manage anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other mood disorders through a holistic and individualized approach.

At Better Balance Mental Health, I blend my medical expertise with empathy and curiosity. My goal is to truly understand each patient’s story and create a personalized treatment plan that supports lasting emotional wellness, stability, and growth.
