The Full Story
Alecia DeAngelis, PMHNP-BC
My path to psychiatry began long before I officially entered the field. I started my career in critical care, caring for some of the most medically fragile patients in Level 1 trauma and cardiac ICUs. Those years were intense, humbling, and deeply meaningful. At the bedside, I witnessed moments when medicine alone wasn’t enough. Sometimes what someone truly needed most was a steady presence, a sense of calm, and the reassurance that they weren’t alone.
Those experiences shaped me. They taught me that healing isn’t just physical; it’s emotional, relational, and human. Over time, I realized the moments that resonated most were the ones spent truly understanding someone. Their fears, their resilience, their story. That realization is what drew me into psychiatry and made the transition feel like stepping into the work I was always meant to do.
Today, I bring that same grounding, compassionate approach into mental health care. I integrate my critical care background with a holistic, individualized style of practice, helping patients navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, and mood challenges with clarity and support. I believe each person comes in with a unique history and inner world, and my role is to understand that fully that and not rush past it.

My goal is to create a space that feels steady and safe, where you can explore what you’re facing and build a treatment plan that truly fits your life. I’m continually inspired by the strength people carry, even when they don’t realize it, and I feel honored to be part of their journey toward healing, stability, growth and a better balance.
