Attention & Focus Assessments (ADHD)

What Are Attention & Focus Assessments?

ADHD can affect attention, organization, motivation, emotional regulation, memory, and follow-through. Many people reach adulthood without knowing they have ADHD — they simply feel overwhelmed, scattered, or “not good enough.” Our goal is to help you understand what’s really happening in your brain and create a plan that supports success, confidence, and daily functioning.

These assessments may include:

  • ADHD screening questionnaires

  • Symptom rating scales

  • Executive functioning assessments

  • Review of school or work history

  • Discussion of childhood symptoms (when relevant)

  • Information from partners, parents, or teachers (with permission)

Assessments are not about labeling — they are about clarity. When people understand the "why" behind their struggles, they can finally stop blaming themselves.

Types of ADHD Testing

Every person is different, so testing is tailored to your needs. Common approaches include:

Clinical ADHD Evaluations:

Helps evaluate how your thyroid may be impacting mood or energy.

Standardized ADHD Rating Scales:

Validated tools that compare your experiences to clinical criteria.

Executive Function Assessments:

Helps identify struggles with planning, task initiation, working memory, and organization.

Rule-Out Assessments:

Screening for anxiety, depression, trauma, sleep disorders, or medical conditions that can mimic ADHD symptoms.

Optional Neuropsychological Testing

For learning difficulties, memory issues, or cognitive concerns.

Managing ADHD: Medication & Beyond

Medication can be very helpful for some people, but it is never the only option and never required.

Treatment can include:

  • Stimulant or non-stimulant medication

  • Behavioral activation therapy

  • Executive functioning skills training

  • Lifestyle modifications

  • Coaching and accountability strategies

  • Sleep and routine optimization

  • Integrative supports such as nutrition, exercise, and mindfulness

Some patients prefer non-medication approaches entirely, and that is okay. We meet you where you are.

Why ADHD Testing Is Helpful

A clear diagnosis can change lives. It helps people understand themselves, get accommodations, reduce shame, and learn strategies that actually work.

Testing helps us:

  • Confirm whether ADHD is present

  • Identify the type of ADHD (inattentive, hyperactive, or combined)

  • Understand how symptoms impact daily functioning

  • Decide whether medication, therapy, coaching, or accommodations would help

  • Build a personalized treatment plan

We don’t just diagnose — we stay with you for ongoing guidance and support.

Accommodations and Support

When appropriate, we can also help with:

  • Workplace accommodations

  • School support, including 504 plans or testing accommodations

  • Emotional support and counseling

  • Psychoeducation for partners or family members

  • Strategies for organization, planning, and task management

You deserve tools that make life easier — not harder.

Our Approach

ADHD is not a character flaw, a lack of effort, or laziness. It is a real neurological condition that affects motivation, executive function, and regulation. With the right support, people with ADHD can thrive.

We offer understanding, clarity, evidence-based treatment, and ongoing support so you can feel more confident, capable, and in control of daily life.

Pre-Visit Screening (Optional):
If you are interested in being evaluated for ADHD, you may take the online Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS) before your first appointment.
